Background: The East Girls Basketball Association, with the assistance of the Duluth East Girls Varsity coaching staff, offers competitive basketball for 3rd through 7th grade girls. Our goal is to offer girls the opportunity to develop their basketball skills, strengthen their understanding of teamwork, grasp the importance of commitment, form life-long friendships, and so much more.  This the Duluth East High School girls basketball feeder program. Players must reside within the Duluth East High School attendance boundaries to participant on the youth travel teams.

2023-2024 Season Information: The travel team season will begin late-October and run through the end of February. These dates are subject to change.

Teams and fees: There will be at least one team at each grade level.  All girls who are registered through this link will be placed on a team.  Fees by grade are listed below.  NEW - EGBA is offering Early Bird pricing (fee reduced by $50) on registrations completed by September 22nd.  NOTE: Registration fee adjustment for registrations prior to September 22nd will be applied in your shopping cart upon checkout.

3rd grade - $250 ($200 before 9/22)
4th grade - $250 ($200 before 9/22)
5th grade - $335 ($285 before 9/22)
6th grade - $375 ($325 before 9/22)
7th grade - $375 ($325 before 9/22)


Registration fees cover the costs of: tournaments, insurance, equipment, supplies, practice jersey, shooting shirts, and banquet meal for player.  

Uniforms: All new participants will need to purchase a full uniform. The cost of a full uniform is $110. If you have a uniform from last season, that fits, you DO NOT need to order a new uniform. Returning players can use the uniform from last season. Separate pieces can be purchased, as needed.

Practices: We hope to have each team practice two times per week. We are working to obtain practice space. 

Tournaments:  Our 5th-7th grade teams will participate in a mix of Great Northwest Basketball League (GNBL) and Minnesota Youth Athletic Services (MYAS) tournaments.  The 3rd-4th grade teams will participate in the Arrowhead Youth Basketball League (AYBL).  Majority of tournaments are 1-day format (3 games) and will be within 2 hours of Duluth (Northern MN/Northern WI/Twin Cities). All teams will play in the MYAS Grade State Tournament at the end of February (2-day tournament in the Twin Cities area). 


Volunteers:  A separate $300 volunteer deposit will be collected from each family. These deposits will be held until the end of the basketball season. Families that complete the 12 hours of volunteer service to EGBA will have their deposit checks destroyed. Volunteer deposit checks will be collected in person at the Parent Meeting.

Be prepared to share: contact information (player name, home address, current school, current grade, parent/guardian names, parent/guardian phone number(s) and email address); emergency contact information, insurance information (provider, policy number, phone number); uniform size (top and bottom). 

Full payment of registration fee is required to complete registration.
